During the Heads of States Summit which was held in Kigali in May 14, 2019 at the Transform Africa summit (Smart Africa),it was entrusted to Tunisia to put forward an event, dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship and the promotion of the talents of African innovation to the world.
The Afric’up Summit https://www.africup.tn/en/ held in September 2019 sought to support the emergence of future African champions by promoting skills, creativity and success stories for Africa by Africans.
Lentera Africa (www.lenterafrica.com) was awarded the Afric’up Summit 2019 startup of the year after winning the finals of the pitch competition.
Lentera Africa is a Kenyan agritech startup that enables farmers to increase their productivity through aerospace technology. Using satellite imaging, drones and ground-based sensors, farmers receive alerts via SMS and mobile app with practical insights such as when to plant, when to irrigate and when to scout for pests and diseases. Lentera is also one of the 10 startups selected by Airbus to join the Bizlab aerospace accelerator program. Using predictive algorithms, farmers are better able to adapt to changing climatic conditions and increase their chances for success.

Rema http://www.remaapp.com/ a medtech startup from Benin and Kamix https://kamix.fr/ a fintech startup from Cameroon won second and third place respectively.
